S12 Partner Residency Applications Closed

One applicant who express interest will be passed on to S12 Open Access & Studio to be selected for a residency. Thanks to the generosity of our partner, the residency represents an opportunity to expand your work in a world-class studio in an inspiring setting in Bergen, Norway.

Eligibility for the S12 Partner Residency opportunity is restricted to artists not currently enrolled in a degree program. 

S12 Open Access & Studio
Location: Bergen, Norway

Residency Dates: Mutually agreed upon dates.

One applicant working in glass will receive a three- to six-week residency at S12 Open Access Studio and Gallery in Bergen, Norway! S12 Open Access Studio and Gallery supports artists experimenting with glass in all its diversity and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration between glass and other art forms.

This residency will include:

• Basic equipment as is and access to basic materials/glass.
• Access to the S12 Studio’s hot shop, kilns, cold shop, plaster room, and to all standard tools.
• Assistance in the hot shop during part of the residency.
• An opportunity to present your work during an open house event, or to exhibit work in our project room (exhibit will be limited time only, depending on the requirements of the work and the S12 exhibition and teaching schedule).
• Housing in a shared apartment can be provided.
• Resident responsibilities include shop cleanup. Residents are responsible for travel expenses, providing their own health insurance and meals. The resident must arrange and pay for packing, and shipping of all work created, and for bringing their own specialized tools or equipment, color, and incidentals.
