Inspired by the magic of Pilchuck, this class is for those who love food, fun, design and glassblowing. We will work individually and collaboratively to design and create tableware which enhances the experience of eating and drinking. Focusing on PNW produce and the nourishment of our glass community, we will consider functionality and culinary aesthetics as we explore production processes.
Annette Blair is an exhibiting artist, gaffer, teacher and production glassblower based in Australia. Working primarily out of Canberra Glassworks and her studio in Burra, NSW, she focuses on refining technical processes, thoughtful design and exploring our connection to people and objects.
Jen Elek is a Pacific Northwest studio artist and educator. Working primarily in glass, neon and steel, Jen utilizes blown glass to create sculptural objects that display the materials ability to reflect, magnify and represent bold color. Traditional and innovative processes combine in Jen's work to create colorful landscapes of glass.
