Focusing on kiln-formed glass slumping, students will learn several prop-making techniques to achieve free-flowing sculptures in multiple firings. Encouraging inventive combinations, prop set-ups include slip-cast ceramic, hardened blanket, wire, and kiln furniture to guide glass into spontaneous, energetic forms. The course will also explore the art of installation by mixing glass with other materials and responding to the environment.
