Pilchuck Glass School Announces Leadership Transition and Interim Executive Director Appointment
The Board of Pilchuck Glass School, an international center for glass art education, today announced the departure of Christopher R. Taylor as Executive Director. Taylor's tenure was focused on a variety of enhancements to the school, including campus improvements, successfully navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic, reopening after a two-year closure, expanding fundraising efforts, and commemorating Pilchuck's 50th Anniversary.
Effective immediately, Donna Davies has been appointed as Interim Executive Director. Davies has served as Deputy Director at Pilchuck for four years and has played an integral role in various aspects of operations while working closely with staff and board members. Her deep understanding of Pilchuck's mission make her well-suited to guide the institution through this transitional period.
Pilchuck Glass School was founded in 1971 by artist Dale Chihuly and patrons John H. Hauberg and Anne Gould Hauberg. The campus, located in Stanwood, Washington, offers a series of courses as well as residencies for established artists in all media. Small classes taught by world-renowned artists and instructors emphasize experimentation and teamwork while fostering individual initiative and expression.
